Obituary for Mrs. Litton.

Anna C. Erling was born in (unreadable), May 15, (1837). In 1860 she was married to Peter Oberg, and in 1869 they came to the U.S. settling at Kewanee, Ill. Shortly after they came to Iowa, stopping near Keokuk awhile, then moving on a farm near Salem.

In 1874 the husband died. Five children were born to this union, three dying in infancy, and two surviving, Mrs. C.O. Swan of Clear Lake, Iowa, and O.J. Oberg of Birmingham.

For several years the mother and children made their home with the Ira Mitchell family, near Salem.

In 1883 Mrs. Oberg was married to Washington Litton of Glasgow, Iowa, where they made their home on a farm until 1894, when they moved to Stockport, when in 1899 Mr. Litton died. Since that time Mrs. Litton made her home at Stockport, until recent years she has been with her daughter, Mrs. Swan.

On Moving to Stockport she became affiliated with the Christian church and remained a faithful member until her death.

January 10th she suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which she gradually became weaker, passing away without suffering, January 27, 1919, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 12 days.

The funeral service was held at the Christian church, Stockport, January 30th, being in charge of Elder Putnam of Ottumwa. Interment in Spencer cemetery.
