William Barker
William Webster (Webb) Barker, 86, of Des Moines, native of Van Buren county, died Saturday, Sept. 19 while on vacation in Minnesota.
He was the son of William and Rebecca True Barker, born in Van Buren county Aug. 15, 1878. He was married to Edna Nelson of Mt. Zion, she preceded him.
For the past 35 years Mr. Barker had lived in Des Moines.
Survivors include three sons, William, Darrell and Phillip, all of Des Moines, and a daughter, Bethene in Texas. A daughter, Zoe, preceded him about two years ago.
The body was brought to the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua Monday and funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church. Burial was in Millers Chapel cemetery near Mt. Zion.
