Pearl Regur, 95, Hemet Pioneer, Dies in Hospital
Funeral services for Pearl P. Regur, 95, a Hemet resident since 1924, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Harford Funeral Home. Mrs. Regur, a Kimball avenue resident for 52 years died Friday at a local hospital.
The Rev. Dale Conrad of Hemet United Methodist Church, of which she was a member, will officiate. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery.
The family requests donations be made to the Methodist Church building fund.
Mrs. Regur was born Dec. 2, 1884, in the southeast Iowa community of Mt. Zion. Later, in 1904, she moved to Keosauqua where she married, residing there till 1924 when the family moved to Hemet.
The Regurs arrived in California by train, heaving left Iowa in order that her health might improve.
It was in Hemet that the Regur family started the hardware business which is still operating today.
A housewife, Mrs. Regur was a member of Eastern Star, Tahaunity Chapter No. 351 for 45 years, and the Hemet Woman's Club for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died 20 years ago.
Among the family survivors are son, Frank, of Hemet; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.No newspaper source or date is given.
