DEATH OF MRS. HENRY GREENE OF LEANDO

Douds-Leando, June 26. - Once gain death has visited our little own and taken from our number an old and much loved friend and neighbor.

Otilla E. Stoffel was born June 5, 1840, in the city of St. Louis and died June 15, 1914, at her home in Leando.

She was united in marriage to Henry Greene on July 25, 1861. To this union were born nine children, even [sic] of whom have preceded her to the spirit land. Two, John R. Greene of Ottumwa and Nellie A. Greene, and an aged husband of Leando are left to mourn her loss.

Aunt Tilla, as we all called her, was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a kind friend. She was ever willing to help and sympathize with those who were sick, afflicted or in trouble. During her sickness which was only one short week, she was patient and cheerful, often saying she was not afraid to die.

Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Wm. Heger under the large shade trees which surrounded the home. She was placed in her casket which was covered with most beautiful powers placed there by hands that loved her.

While the writer could tell of the many kind acts of his death old friend, we will close by bidding her a long farewell, knowing she has one to that land of rest from whence no traveler returns.
