MRS. NELLIE ASHBY
Mrs. Nellie Ashby, wife of Marion W. Ashby, died at Ottumwa Friday morning, Oct. 30, of typhoid fever, and was buried at Keosauqua Saturday, Oct. 31.
Nellie Adeline McIntosh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McIntosh of Keosauqua, was born at Pittsburg, this county, May 2, 1889, and at the time of her death was aged 19 years, 5 months and 29 days. Nov. 16, 1907, she was united in marriage to Marion W. Ashby of Stockport. She moved to Ft. Madison shortly after her marriage, but later moved to Ottumwa. Deceased passed to her greater part of her life here. She was an estimable young lady, respected by all who knew her, and on account of being so young and leaving an infant child, her death is a particularly sad one.
Deceased leaves to mourn her death a husband and infant and a father, mother, and five brothers and five sisters. Her death was the first break in this large family circle. The funeral was held at the home of her parents, the services being conducted by Rev. W.G. Thorn, there being a large attendance. The interment was in the Purdom cemetery.
