Death of James McIntosh.

James McIntosh was born in Tazewell county, Virginia, Aug. 22, 1820, and died in this city Sept. 25, 1897, aged 77 years, 1 months and 3 days. In the fall of 1839 he came to Van Buren county where he continued to reside until called by the all wise Father to the eternal home. On Sept. 12, 1841, he was married to Susanna Peterson, who departed this life March 8, 1888. To them was born six sons and five daughters, of whom two sons and two daughters have gone before.

The deceased was a faithful member of the M.E. church for more than fifty years; a kind husband and father and always ready to help his neighbors and friends.

Mr. McIntosh had been afflicted with paralysis three years, but bore it all with perfect patience and fortitude. Not a complaint escaped him during his long illness. The funeral was from the late residence Sunday afternoon, and there was a large attendance, as the deceased, an upright and good man, was respected and esteemed by all. Rev. Tennant officiated.
