Death of Thomas J. Lawson.

Thomas J. Lawson was born in East Tennessee, Aug. 9, 1851. Died at his home north of Birmingham, May 9, 1914, aged 62 years and 9 months. He leaves to mourn his death two sisters - Mrs. Josiah Martin of Fairfield, Mrs. John Ratcliff of Muscatine; also five brothers - A.J. of Lebo, Mo., S.P. and C.G. of Ottumwa, Joe of Alexandria, La. and Geo. of Fairfield. To preceed him in death was the father, mother, three sisters and two brothers. In death of this dear brother the two sisters and brothers lose a kind and loving brother, the community a valued neighbor and friend. Tom. Lawson was always manly and willing to help any one that called upon him - a good neighbor and exemplary man.

The two sisters and one brother were at his bedside when death called him. Funeral services were held Monday at the home of his sister Mrs. Josiah Martin, 4 miles north of Birmingham, in charge of Rev. Crowther, and burial was in the Birmingham cemetery beside his sister Mrs. Eliza J. Pringle, who was buried only six months previous.

**Handwritten: 1914

NOTE: Parents were Alfred H. Lawson and Vianna Frost. I research the LAWSON lineage.
