Perry E. Smith Stockport, Dies

STOSKPORT(err), Ia. - Perry E. Smith, 66, retired Stockport merchant, died suddenly at his home here at 2 p.m. Monday following a heart attack. He had been in his usual health earlier that day.

The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral home in Fairfield where last rites are pending.

Smith retired several years ago after a long career in the mercantile business. He had been a resident of Stockport for 47 years.

Smith was born Jan. 15, 1888 at Glendale, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Riley Smith. He was married to Maud Johnson May 5, 1915, at Stockport Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife, one sister, Mrs. Varilla Elliott, Des Moines, and the following brothers: Frank Smith, Corydon; Chestney Smith, Burlington; Paul Smith, Sandpoint, Ida.; Floyd Smith, LaMesa, Calif.; Elmer Smith, Mullan, Ida., and Will Smith, Ottumwa.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
