Roy Crawford, 56, Of Stockport Dies

STOCKPORT. - Roy Crawford, 56, operator of the Prairie Grain Co. here, died of a heart attack at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside, Mo., a Kansas City suburb, as he and his wife were returning from a trip south. He had not been ill previously.

The Crawfords left Stockport December 14 and had been at El Paso, Tex., with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burnett and Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Harwood, formerly of Keosauqua. They had spent New Year's eve at Kansas City with another former resident, Mrs. Wilda Syfert. They stopped at Riverside when Mr. Crawford felt ill.

He was born near Stockport September 26, 1901, he was the son of John and Ann Gilbert Crawford. On August 14, 1943, he was married to Ruth Aylor, who survives. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Edna Morris and Mrs. Ona Webber of St. ???; two brothers, N.E. Crawford of Stockport and Irvin Crawford of Tampa, Fla.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Lelia Morgan of ???, Mo., and Mrs. Florence ??? of Goring, Mo., and a half brother, Aven Crawford of Dow???.

Owner of the grain elevator for 10 years, Mr. Crawford served as a director of ??? State bank here and ??? actively associated with the conservation service and ... He was a member of Stockport Methodist church and I.O.O.F. lodge and the Elks.

The body is at the Catcott funeral home.
