Wells Funeral To Be Saturday

PACKWOOD - Abraham A. Wells, 85, long-time resident of the Packwood Community died at 2 a.m. today at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield. He had been in failing health the past eight years and seriously ill on day.

Last rites will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. William Kanne in charge. Burial will be in the Packwood Cemetery.

Abraham A. Wells was born May 18, 1881, at East Stone Gap, Va., the son of Monroe and Druzilla Harris Wells. He was reared and educated in Virginia and was married to Ava Gillenwater.

They moved to Iowa and lived in the Stockport community 23 years before going to Packwood. Wells lived in the Packwood area for 33 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Christian Church.

His wife passed away Dec. 24, 1958. He was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Frank, Packwood; two daughters, Mrs. Darle Clark, Packwood and Mrs. Glenn Harrignton, Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; also three brothers, Esmond of Stockport; Robert, Gervois, Ore.; and Jerry, Libertyville; and two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Miner, Stockport, and Mary of Big Stone Gap, Va. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
