Dennis Ray 'Butch' Gwinnup

Dennis Ray "Butch" Gwinnup went home to our Heavenly Father surrounded by friends and family at his home the morning of Wednesday, April 16, 2014.

Dennis was born September 16, 1949, to Donald Garth Gwinnup and Waneta Syverson Gwinnup. He attended Van Buren schools and later served our country in Vietnam (1969-1971). He married Connie Droz Gwinnup November 6, 1985.

Dennis worked several years at Metromail, later going to Barker Ltd. until retiring. He loved camping, boating and nature as well as being an avid tree surgeon/logger.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, and children, Anthony (Phyllis) Droz and children, Valerie, Jessica, Jennifer and Spencer of rural Keosauqua; Tracy Folker and children, Tyler and Whitney of Des Moines; Terry (Jacque) Eisenbarth and children, Reilly, Jaxson and Ellee of Pocahontas, Iowa; and 4 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his brother Roger (Donna) Gwinnup and children Tracie, Aaron, Sarah of Oxford, Iowa; a sister (Donna (JC) O'Neill and children Kate and Alex of Burbank, Calif.; aunts Martha Carter and Fern Gwinnup of Keosauqua, and Betty Gwinnup of rural Stockport, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held, Sunday, 1-4 p.m. May 25, 2014, at Dennis's home located at 22534 Robin Ave., Keosauqua, IA 525565. Memorials and cards may be sent to the same address.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles, a brother-in-law Dan Droz and a sister-in-law, Martha Cole Droz.
