FRACTURES HIP

Sam White, 92, suffered a fractured hip Monday morning while down town and was taken to the St. Joseph hospital in Keokuk. Mrs. White is a patient in the same hospital, she suffered a fractured pelvic in a fall at her home recently. Mr. White was reaching for the door latch when he fell backward landing on his hip. P.L. Fotsch, who was walking up the street, picked him up and sat him on a ledge along the side of the building. His son, Bart White was summoned and he was later placed on an ambulance cot and taken to his home and then to the hospital. Mr. White has been quite spry for his age, but the infirmities of age have been showing on him lately.
