SUDDEN DEATH.

Heart Disease Summons Wm. Macklin While Asleep.

Wm. Fermen Macklin was born in Butler county, Ohio, Dec. 29, 1841, and died in Bonaparte, Iowa, May 26, 1895, aged 53 years, 4 months and 27 days.

He came to Iowa in 1851 and settled in Lee county, moving shortly afterwards to Clark Co., Mo.

In 1856, he was married at Croton, Iowa, to Miss Sarah Dawson, and moved to Farmington where they made their home. To this union were born ten children, five sons and five daughters, all of whom survive him except one daughter who died in infancy. His companion died Sept. 24, 1891.

Mr. Macklin enlisted in February, 1864, in Co. C, 10th Illinois Infantry, and served until the close of the war, being discharge in July, 1865.

The funeral services, under the auspices of Miles King Post, G.A.R., of Farmington, occurred from the residence of his son in Bonaparte, and was conducted by Elder Jas. McKiernan, of Farmington, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Anson, Mo. A large concourse of friends and relatives attended the last sad rites.
