Theodore Lydolph.
Theodore Lydolph was born in Germany, Feb. 28, 1846, and died at his home in Bonaparte, Iowa, Jan. 19, 1911, aged 64 years, 10 months, and 21 days.
He came to Bonaparte in 1861 and although he has spent considerable of his time in other states, has always considered Bonaparte his home.
Feb. 14, 1865, he married Miss Anna Radrick of Keokuk. At the time of his death they were engaged in gardening here and Mr. Lydolph was also the efficient janitor of the Presbyterian church. Besides the wife he leaves three brothers: - Edward of San Francisco, Cal; Herman of Helena, Mont.; and Ernest of Bonaparte.
He was originally a member of the German Lutheran church, the church of his native land, but has for many years been a faithful worker in the Presbyterian church here, having for a number of years been janitor, and to this duty he was faithful up to the time of his sudden death.
Thursday morning he was engaged in some work about his residence and had been on a ladder cleaning snow from gutters when he was summoned and all things possible were done, but death came a few minutes after seven o’clock the same day.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon, the audience room being filled with friends and relatives who came to pay their last tribute of respect. The services were in charge of Rev. H.J. Taylor, with interment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
