FRANKLIN OLIVER PRATT

Franklin O. Pratt, son of Oliver and Mattie Pratt, was born Jan. 14, 1871, at Pella, Iowa, and died at his home three miles west of Blackwell, Okla., on Wednesday, April 2, 1941, following an extended illness.

The Pratt family moved to Kansas in 1877. Franklin came back to Iowa as a young man and worked for some of his relatives in the vicinity of Utica.

On Dec. 19, 1896, he was united in marriage with Lydia May Burns at Bentonsport, and to this union three daughters, Mary Esther, Rozella Faye and Regina Alice were born. Forty one years ago they located on a farm near Blackwell, Okla., which has since been their home.

Mr. Pratt was an affectionate husband and father. He had many friends in Blackwell community.

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Rozella Gilstrap of Newport, Oregon, Mrs. Esthre Beavers of Ponca City, and Mrs. Regina Chessher of Blackwell, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Jenkins of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Stella Hogan and Mrs. Laura Copple of Winfield, Okla.; two brothers, W.J. Pratt of Salina, Kansas, and J.E. Pratt of Pittsburg, Pa., and four grandchildren, Lorene and Weldon Chessher and Lillian Gilstrap.
