Stanley Watts

Burial rites were held at Birmingham Monday, Nov. 23 for Stanley Watts, 64, of Murray, whose death occurred Friday, Nov. 20 at Chariton shortly after he had addressed the fourth district democratic convention.

Mr. Watts had lived in Birmingham before moving to Lorimor, Iowa. He had been a partner in a funeral home at Murray for 25 years.

He represented Van Buren county in the Iowa house of representatives in 1931. In 1957 he was elected state representative from Clarke county. After serving two years he apparently won re-election in close voting in 1958 but lost the office when the election was contested.

Surviving are his wife, Fanny; a daughter, Mrs. Russell Miller of Waterloo; a son, David Watts of New York City, and a sister, Mary Jane Watts of Lorimor.
