JAMES W. SEARS

James Washington Sears was born in Ohio, December 26, 1844 and died April 6, 1926 at the home of his grandson, Harley Finney at Eldon.

He was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Evans and to this union were born, four children, Mrs. Maggie Byers, Ottumwa and Mrs. Clara Winney(sp), Foirfield(sp) are the only two survivink(sp). Two children and his wife preceded him in death. Besides his daughters, he is survived by seven grandchildren.

Mr. Sears, with his three brothers and father served in the Civil war. He lived in Birmingham for about thirty years and was a member of the Free Methodist church there.

The funeral was held at the Birmingham church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W.T. Ogle. Burial was made in the Maple Hill cemetery. - Contributed.
