Mrs. Simon P. Miller

Ellen Ora, daughter of Isaac and Mary Watts, was born Oct. 11, 1854, at Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away at the home of her grandchildren Mary Florence and Miller Derr of Bonaparte on Feb. 6th, 1941, at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 25 days.

Her parents moved to Bonaparte the same year she was born. Here she grew to womanhood and on Oct. 11, 1874, was united in marriage with Simon P. Miller. To this union three children were born, two of whom preceded her in death. The children are J. Carl Miller of Chicago, Effie Dean Miller, who died at age of six years, and Mrs. Lottie May Derr, who died in 1937.

Early in life she united with the Methodist church and remained a member until called home. Her health had been failing for several years.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, S.P. Miller, now 93 years of age; her son, J. Carl Miller of Chicago; 3 grandchildren Earl Miller, Chicago, Mary Florence and Miller Derr of Bonaparte; and two great grandchildren, John and Carl Miller of Chicago.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Bonaparte Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. F.M. James. Interment in Bonaparte cemetery.
