Kent Williams

Dale Kent Williams, 55, of rural Birmingham died at 11:48 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, under hospice care at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

The funeral is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Visitation will open at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Birmingham United Methodist Church, Birmingham Lions Club or Wounded Warriors. Memorials can be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 10372 Keystone Ave., Birmingham 52535.

Mr. Williams was born March 7, 1959, in Keosauqua, the son of Rex and Evelyn Aringdale Williams. He married Linda L. Ford March 8, 1980, at Birmingham United Methodist Church in Birmingham.

Mr. Williams graduate from Van Buren High School in 1977. He farmed and had been a truck driver for Waste Management in Fairfield.

He was active in Van Buren County Farm Bureau and served many years on the Birmingham Fire Department, including several years as captain.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda; three daughters, Wendy Bowers and husband Kevin of Corydon, Amanda Salazar and husband Ray of Birmingham and Ashley Williams of Lafayette, Colorado; one grandson; and one brother, Gayle Williams of McPherson, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
