Nancy Helen Zeitler

Nancy Helen Zeitler, 65, of Douds died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

A funeral is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. Wednesday with family present 5-7 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Memorials to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 10906 167th Road, Douds 52551.

Mrs. Zeitler was born Oct. 26, 1947, in Ottumwa the daughter of Waldo and Lorraine Blakeley Jannings. She married Fred Zeitler Nov. 7, 1965, at Christ United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Fox Valley High School in 1965 and attended Ottumwa Beauty Academy and worked as a beautician.

Most of her life was spent being a farm wife, mother and grandmother.

Later in life she enjoyed operating Nancy Z's Designs and Vintage Chic Boutique.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Douds.

She was a member of Van Buren County Pork Producers, Douds Chapter TTT, Valley Club, was a Farm Bureau board director and 4-H leader.

She enjoyed playing cards with friends, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Jacque Greene and spouse Terry of Afton, Jana Roberts and spouse Kelly of Lancaster, Mo., Shelly Koenig and spouse Paul of Douds, and twins Emily Odgaard and spouse Chris of Pleasant Hihll, and Angela Prevo and spouse Kevin of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one brother, Jerry Jannings of New Florence, Mo.; four sisters, Lois Bradley of Ottumwa, Sharon Johnson of Mason City, Vicky Besco of Davenport and Julie Buttell of Dallas, Texas.
