Keith E. Vickers, 86, of Bonaparte, died at 3:48 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Keosauqua Health Care Center where he had resided since March 11. He was born January 20, 1930, in rural Bonaparte to Carl and Melva Smith Vickers and graduated from Bonaparte High School. He married Virginia Rice on April 15, 1950. She died April 6, 1990. He married Edith Gard July 17, 1992.

Keith lived his life in the Bonaparte area and had worked at Fairfield Glove Co., Farmers Co-op and Pankey Feeds, all in Bonaparte, White's Hatchery in Farmington and Dick Corry Machine, Birmingham. He was a member of Bonaparte Baptist Church, was an avid New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Edith, two daughters, Kimberly Parker (Ron) of Ft. Madison and Cindy Vickers (Mike Hefelfinger) of Fairfield, TX, two stepsons, David Gard and Jeff Gard (Allison), all of Bonaparte, two stepdaughters, Diane Peterson of Mt. Pleasant and Deb Benedict (Todd) of Wagner, OK, two sisters, Vivian Oliver of Ventura, CA, and Carla Rogers of El Cajon, CA, two grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, a greatgranddaughter, four stepgreat-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his first wife he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Earl Vickers, a daughter, Kristie Vickers, and a sister, Irene Terry.

Funeral services were April 6, 2016, in Bonaparte Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Caston officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte Cemetery. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, assisted the family with arrangements.
