Return of Ashes Of Lt. George Kruse
Lieut. George Kruse of Fairfield, listed as missing in action since April 23, 1945, was a member of a crew of B-29 that went down over Tokio on that date, the government had notified his wife, Mrs. Ila Mae Kruse, of Fairfield.
The cremated remains of Lieutenant Kruse have been recovered from the Franklin temple at Honshu, Japan, and will be returned here for burial.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Christine Marie, 4, whom he never saw, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George J. Kruse of Fairfield. Mrs. Kruse, a former teacher in the Keosauqua school, now teaches in Lincoln school in Fairfield.
