H.P. Gilbert

Herman P. Gilbert passed away at his home in Kilbourne, Monday night at 9:30 o'clock. Although his health had been failing the past two years, he was bedfast only about three weeks.

Mr. Gilbert was born in Selma and had lived at Kilbourne the past thirty-five years. His age was 67. His wife preceded him in death several years ago.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Marie Leslie(sp), who has been living in the home and caring for her father, Mrs. Joe Swartout of Keosauqua, and George Perry Gilbert, living in Idaho. Also 5 brothers, C.W. Gilbert and R.S. Gilbert of Kilbourne, Raymond H., Grant and Harry Gilbert of Eldon and vicinity; and three sisters, Mrs. Georgia Cole of Oak Park, Illinois, Mrs. Grace Glotfelty of Agency, and Miss Jessie Gilbert, who lives in California.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Kilbourne Methodist Episcopal church and interment was made in the Kilbourne cemetery beside his wife.
