RECIEVES WORD OF TOM BENNETT'S DEATH
**Handwritten: 1947

Milton - Mrs. Jennie Rice received word that her uncle, Tom C. Bennett had died at his home in Dolores, Colo., Nov. 10, at the age of 84.

Mr. Bennett was born and grew to manhood in Keosauqua. he came to Milton and went into the hardware business with his brother-in-law, J.B. Atkins. He later married Miss Nettie Jarvis, by whom he had three children. The wife and mother died a number of years ago. His three children are still living: Miss Nellie of Walkerson, Color., Ralph Bennett of Durango, Colo., and Mrs. Jack Barr, Baltimore, Md. There are eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He had lived in Colorado around 40 years.
