Butler Beer

Butler Beer, son of Jefferson and Deborah (Griffith) Beer, was born January 15, 1862, at Keosauqua, Iowa, and departed this life at his home in Des Moines, Iowa, Tuesday May 7, 1935, at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 22 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Lida Minnick Beer, and six children, Eddie, John, Carl and Mrs. Lulu Putzer, of Des Moines; Mrs. John Hiller, of Keokuk, Iowa, Mrs. Charley Shippey of Lorraine, Illinois, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Haney of Washington, Iowa, by a former marriage.

Funeral services were held from the Keosauqua Methodist church Thusrday(sp) afternoon, May 9, at one o'clock in charge of the pastor, Rev. M.E. Hayes. Interment in Purdom cemetery.
