Mrs. Joe Martin Dies SuddenlyMrs. Joe M. Martin, 204 E. Washington, died suddenly at the Jefferson County hospital at 7:40 a.m. today. She was 41.
Mrs. Martin had been in failing health for several years and entered the hospital last night. She had been a resident of Fairfield since 1932.
The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral home where last rites are pending.
Mrs. Martin was born at Cantril May 7, 1914, the daughter of Dudley and Edith Courtright Barnes. She was married to Joe M. Martin Feb. 25, 1932 at Galesburg, Ill.
Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Grace Lucas and Dudley Martin, Fairfield; and Mrs. Bonnie Graham, Hedrick. Other survivors are four grandchildren and the following sisters and brother: Mrs. Guy Leazer, Batavia; Mrs. Jay Yarnell and Mrs. Cecil Spoor, Ft. Madison; and Dudley C. Barnes, Joplin, Mo.
Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.
