Mrs. Stephen I. Cox
Nancy F. Kite was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, on January 19, 1851, and died at the home of her son, Milton D. Cox, at Mt. Zion, Iowa, on January 19, 1919, at the age of 68 years.
She was united in marriage to Stephen I. Cox, at Ioka, Iowa, on December 31, 1867. Mr. Cox preceded her in death seven years ago.
To this union ten children were born, tow of whom died in infancy. The children who are left to mourn the loss of this kind and loving mother are; Lee A. Cox, of Garden City, Minnesota; McDonald Cox, of Kirkville, Iowa; Milton D. Cox, of Mt. Zion, Iowa, Mrs. Elmer Watts, of Farmington, Iowa; Mrs. N.C. Larson, of Chicago, Ill; Mrs. O.R. Perkins, of Bonaparte, Iowa; Joseph H. Cox, of Croton, Iowa, and Roger E. Cox, who is in the service at Camp Jesup, Atlanta, Georgia.
Mrs. Cox is also survived by two brothers, John Kite, who resides in California, and Allen Kite of Keota, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Julettie Garner, of Washington, Iowa, and Mrs. Jordenia Gardner, of Ioka, Iowa, and twenty four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Bonaparte, thus exemplifying her personal faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord.
The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church here on last Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Mason of Donnellson preaching the sermon. The Royal Neighbor lodge, of which Mrs. Cox has been a member for many years, held their services at the late home at 1:30.
