Rannie M. Story died at Graham hospital in Keokuk on Tuesday morning, April 14, at the age of fifty-eight years. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the home one and a half miles southwest of Bonaparte, Rev. D.D. Flanagan officiating, with interment in Thompson cemetery.

Mr. Story’s health had been failing for several years and had caused him to retire to some extent from the active farming operations which he had conducted for years, but he had continued to make his home on the farm and had been for several years the manager of the Bonaparte Shipping association, a position which he had resigned on the Friday previous to his passing away.

Due to heart trouble and complications of diseases he had gone to a Keokuk hospital two or three weeks ago and it was thought that he had shown slight improvement. In fact arrangements had been made to bring him to his home on Wednesday and Mrs. Story, who had been with him in Keokuk, had returned home to make arrangements for his coming.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Kate House Story, one daughter, Mrs. Roger Hornbaker and family, three brothers, Guy, Ed and Ralph, and two sisters, Mrs. W.W. House and Mrs. John O’Dea.
