Peter Wallace Easling was born Jan. 11, 1846, in Bonaparte, Iowa, and died in Burrton, Kan., March 7, 1898, at 12 o’clock p.m. He was the son of Minor and Charlotte Easling.

He attended medical schools in Michigan and Iowa, also Rush Medical College in Chicago, and received his diploma from the college in Keokuk, Iowa. He was married February 12, 1868, to Priscilla E. Troutman, of Bonaparte, Iowa, who survives him. Four children were born to them, Mrs. C. L. Wilson, of Pekin, Ill., Mrs. Willard Light, of Chicago, Mrs. Robt. Van Duesen, of Pekin, Ill., and Newton Easling, of Burrton.

His practice of medicine covered a period of thirty years, passed in Iowa, Colorado, and Kansas; came to Burrton in 1879, where the remainder of his life was passed with the exception of one year in California, giving nearly twenty years of medical practice to this town and county. His sickness began years ago and all medical skill and nursing that could be done for him would not avail.

Saturday afternoon a short religious service was conducted by Rev. Pollard. The Select Knights, assisted by the Woodmen and Workmen, then took the remains and conveyed them to the Methodist church, where Rev. Pollard conducted the services. – Burrton [Kan.] Graphic.
