Florence Donaho

Florence Hurst Donaho was born in West Virginia, May 17, 1855 and passed away at her home two miles southwest of Mt. Sterling Wednesday evening, April 15, 1936, aged 80 years, 10 months and 29 days.

When merely a baby her parents moved into the state of Iowa.

On August 17, 1872 she was married to John Donaho to which union five children were born. The husband and two children, William and Zera, preceded her in death. Mrs. Donaho was a very energetic woman, living on a farm in the same neighborhood almost her entire life. Her wish was always that she might be able to care in that home until life was over. She was generous to every worthy cause and ready to help her fellowmen in any way she could.

She is survived by one son, Jno. Of Milton; two daughters, Mrs. Zella wilder, of Farmington; and Mrs. Lizzie Roby of Milton; two brothers, Emery Alexander of Mt. Sterling; and Grant Alexander, of Oklahoma. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted in the Mt. Sterling Methodist Church on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. by Rev. F. M. James, and burial was in the Harness cemetery.
