David Ramsey

David Ramsey, aged 78 years, dropped dead at his home in Birmingham last Monday evening about 6 o'clock March 12.

Mr. Ramsey was born near Upton, Iowa, April 13, 1855 and his entire life was spent in Van Buren county. He was married to Miss Laura Taylor, October 6, 1877, who preceded him in death four years ago.

He is survived by five children, Allen Ramsey, of Eldon, Roy, of Keosauqua, Mrs. Alice Mathies and Harry Ramsey, of Birmingham, and Mrs. Iva Mercer, of Packwood, Ia., fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, Chas. Ramsey of Kilboune, and Frank Ramsey of Birmingham. The funeral services were held at the home of his daughter here on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in charge of Rev. H.C. Irvine. Interment in the Maple Hill cemetery.
