Another Pioneer Passed Away,
Sixty-seven Years of AgeThe death of Daniel W. Ferguson on Nov. 29 removes another of the old settlers of the county. During the past few months it has been necessary to to publish the obituaries of many of old Van Buren’s oldest and best citizens. Mr. Ferguson was the father of John A. Ferguson, who is now a member of the board of supervisors and one other child, Mrs. Isabella Tower, who resides in Missouri, Mrs. Ferguson died twelve years ago. At the time of his death Mr. Ferguson was in Dubuque taking treatment for paralysis which has been troubling him for some time. The funeral was held from the Congregational church at Keosauqua, Dec. 3, Rev. C. E. Perkins officiating, and the body was interred in Oaklawn cemetery beside the grave of his wife at that place. He was born in Beaver county, Penn, in 1835 and located in Van Buren county in 1856.
