WILLIAM ROSS BOONE
William Ross Boone passed away Oct. 18, 1941, at his home west of Birmingham. He was born near Birmingham, May 20, 1866, and spent his life near Birmingham with the exception of four years near Brighton, Iowa and one year at Starkville, Miss.
He was united in marriage with Irene Cunningham, Dec. 29, 1887 and had lived on the present farm for the past 37 years. He was taken into the Presbyterian church when a child and was received into the Presbyterian church of Birmingham, Oct. 11, 1914, or 27 years ago. He was ordained elder April 3, 1927.
Mr. Boone was held in the highest esteem and tenderly loved by all who knew him. His life stands as a polished diamond in the world about him. We all know how well he did his part in local activities of church and neighborhood as long as he was able.
He was stricken in July, 1937 and had been confined to his bed since, an example of patience to all.
He leaves his wife and one sister, Mrs. Ada Boone of Blakesburg, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Catcott Funeral Home Monday afternoon, Oct. 20, at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. H. C. Irvine, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Burial in Maple Hill cemetery.
