Willis Raymond Wirt
Willis Raymond Wirt was born in Leando, Iowa, September 5, 1910. He died at his home three miles west of Leando, May 7, 1934, at the age of 23 years, 8 months, and 2 days. His death was caused by pneumonia.
Willis was the only child of Charles F. and Susie Wirt. He has lived in this community all his life. At the time he became ill he was helping his father on the farm.
Willis was a member of the Leando Methodist Episcopal church, having joined in 1919.
He leaves to mourn their loss his father and mother; three aunts, Mrs. Nellie Denning, Mrs. George Denning, and Mrs. Etta McCollum, all of Douds, Iowa; one uncle, Mr. George Denning of Douds, Iowa; besides other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, May 9, at 1:30 in charge of the Rev. M.D. Wyatt, assisted by the Rev. Myers of the Eldon Free Methodist church. Burial was in the Leando cemetery.
