He is sleeping, sweetly sleeping,
Can you wish to wake him now
When not a trace of care of sorrow
Ere can mark his peaceful brow.
We a thorny path must travel
For the living, not the dead,
Keep the tears that thou wouldst lavish
O'er that quiet peaceful head.
