Mrs. Mary Ross, 70-year-old Milton resident, died at 5 a.m. Friday, August 19, at the home of her niece, Mrs. E.M. Barnes, at Gilman, Iowa, where she had been visiting the last month. She suffered a stroke of paralysis Thursday afternoon, which resulted in her death.
Mrs. Ross had lived practically all of her life in the Troy and Milton vicinities. She had been a member of P.E.O. for more than 50 years, having been a charter member of the Milton chapter AD. She united with the Presbyterian church early in life.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Ella Lindsay, of Chicago, two nieces, Mrs. E.M. Barnes of Gilman, and Mrs. H.C. Huddleston of Milton, and two nephews, D.V. Lindsay and Donald Lindsay, of Chicago.
Funeral services were held at the Milton Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at two oclock, in charge of the Rev. H.C. Irvine of Birmingham. Pallbearers were D.A. Miller, R.L. Olinger, P.A. Marshall, Clay Baird, O.E. Rowland and Lloyd Summers. Interment was in the Troy cemetery.
