Mrs. Hatton's Death

Mrs. Mattie Hayden received the sad news Sunday that her cousin, Mrs. Hattie Hatton of St. Joseph, Mo., had passed away at a hospital there. Previous to Mrs. Hatton's illness, she made her home with Mrs. Hayden in Dumas-Gate City.

Mrs. Hattie Hatton was the widow of Rev. W.A. Hatton a Baptist minister who died at Farmington several years ago. He and his wife built up the part of town known locally as Baker's Row. She being a sister of W.S. Baker a former druggist. For several years she continued to live in the home now occupied by Mr. Charles Sherrick until her health failed, when Mrs. Hattie Hayden, a cousin, took her to her home at Dumas, Mo., where she was kindly cared for until it became necessary for her to go where she could receive constant surgical attention. Mrs. Hatton was a daughter of Dr. Baker of Athens, Mo.
