Sarah Ann Gillespie

Sarah Ann Miller was born Sept. 27, 1852, near Bentonsport, Iowa, and passed away at Vernon, Jan. 30, 1935, at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 3 days.

She was united in marriage with Jackson Gillespie, March 3, 1871. To this union were born seven children, four sons and three daughters. Her husband and two sons, Frank Albert and George preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Della A. and Rosena Maloney of Vernon; Bessie May Brassel, and two sons, James Miner of Valley Junction, and Benjamin, of Burlington. There are also five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Bentonsport Methodist church Feb. 2, the Rev. F.M. James in charge. Burial was in the Vernon cemetery.
