James Lloyd Miner

James Lloyd Miner, son of Lloyd L. and Sarah D. Miner, was born Dec. 28, 1917, near Utica, Cedar township, Van Buren county, Iowa.

Lloyd bid farewell to relatives and friends while in the bloom of life at his parents' home, one-half mile south of Stockport, Jan. 26, 1935, at the young age of 17 years and 29 days. His death followed a week's illness of pneumonia, and was a great shock to all.

Lloyd leaves his bereaved mother and father, three brothers, Lawrence, who is married and lives on a part of the home place; Rhynas, who is attending school at Parsons College, and Harry at home; two sisters, Flora, teaching in the Stockport high school, and Elnora, at home. Also many relatives and friends who will miss his cheerful smiles and hearty good will laugh.

We many not understand it here, but trust time will reveal what is for the best.

Some are called, their heads are grey,
Many called during the busy day,
But you were called when just begun.

Funeral services at the Stockport M.E. church, Monday, Jan. 28, at 2 o'clock, L.E. McCargar, pastor of the Friends church in charge, assisted by Rev. Allison, of the M.E. church. Interment was made in Spencer cemetery.
