Mrs. S. R. Hill.
Rosa Mae Hill the beloved and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Hill was born near Ashton Clark Co., Mo., and passed away Saturday P. M. Oct. 29, 1910, at the age of 28 yrs. 3 mo. 25 days.
She was united in marriage to S. Russell Henry Sept. 14, 1902, continuing their residence here. Four bright children June, Mildred, Stanley and baby Mabel blessed the home that was saddened in December last by the death of the father and now the faithful young wife and mother has answered the summons having contracted the disease consumption while nursing her beloved companion.
As a wife and mother Mae's devotion to family and home was the comment of her friends. Their married life was ideal, no harsh words ever passed between them, no cloud marred the perfect love they established for one another. All through his illness and the trials of motherhood no murmur escaped her lips and with the beautiful smile that always illuminated her face, she met every duty with Christian fortitude and so it is but natural that to live so beautifully blended in harmony and love should be reunited in that home where parting is unknown.
Returning in August from a visit to her brother at Valley Junction it became apparent to her loved ones that Mae was in a decline, the knowledge of her condition having been carefully concealed lest it grieve her parents, and from that time she failed rapidly, not suffering, but just slipping away like a blighted rose and surrounded by loving relatives and the most tender care she passed away in the full enjoyment of his wondrous love and the knowledge of a rich inheritance.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eli Hill, the four precious children, one brother, Harry Hill of Valley Junction, and innumerable friends mourn her death.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon with Rev. H. J. Taylor in charge.
