Mrs. C. W. Easter

Anna Belle Keck, daughter of Henry and Mary Keck, was born on a farm near Utica, Van Buren county, Iowa, August 20, 1858, and died at her home in Harrisburg township, Van Buren county, Iowa, on Tuesday night, Nov. 18, 1913, at 10:20 o'clock, aged fifty-five years, two months, and twenty-eight days.

She united with the M. E. church at Utica when quite young and has always retained her membership with that organization, being a faithful member of the same, a devoted Christian woman, a kind and sympathizing friend and neighbor, and a loving wife and mother.

January 31, 1878, she and Charles W. Easter were united in marriage. For two years they lived on the Keck farm near Utica and then moved to the farm on which the present beautiful home is now located near the center of Harrisburg township.

Henry Joseph, Frank Keck, James M., and Mary J. were the children who came to gladden their home. H. J. And Jas. M. reside on Harrisburg farms; Mary J. is yet at the old home and will do all she can to take the place of mother; and Frank K. of Seattle, Wash., was so far away that he could not be present for the funeral services.

Mrs. Easter was seriously ill but a few days and her death came as a sad surprise and sudden shock to her family and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Harrisburg church Friday forenoon in charge of Rev. Hehner of the Stockport-Utica charge, assisted by Rev. T. L. Smith. Excellent music was provided by the Harrisburg double quartet. Interment in the Vale Cemetery.

Besides the family above mentioned there are ten grand-children, two brothers, Elmer and Judd Keck; one sister, Mrs. John F. Dodds; and the aged father, Uncle Henry Keck, who on December fourth of this year will reach his 90th milestone.
