Mrs. Mary S. Perkins.
Mary Sherman was born at Vernon, Iowa, January 5, 1860, being a daughter of U. H. and Nancy Sherman. At the age of two years the family moved to Bonaparte where she lived until her marriage to Robert Perkins which occurred Sept. 11, 1879.
To this union were born two children, Mrs. Ed. Story and Kirk A. Perkins, both of whom reside near Bonaparte.
At an early age she united with the M. E. Church and continued to be a member of the same until her death on April 12, 1913, at the age of 63 years, eight months, and seven days.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, two children, and two grandchildren and is also survived by her mother, three brothers, viz: – – Will, who is in the west; Albert of Alabama, and Orville of Bonaparte; and also two sisters, Mrs. J. S. Entler of Bonaparte; and Mrs. Geo. Cheney of Moberly, Mo.; all of whom have the sympathy of the whole community in this time of their sore affliction and profound sorrow.
May they all be enabled to look for comfort and help to the only one who can make up or every loss and fill the vacancy of every heart.
Funeral services were held at the late home Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. L. T. Hughes, with interment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
