Stanley Hales Payne, 94, of Kearney, MO was born September 11, 1909 at Mt. Sterling, IA the only child of Earl Eugene and Eunice Omega Hales Payne and died March 31, 2004 at Liberty, MO after a short illness.
He married Bernice Adams May 22, 1934 in Kansas City. She passed away February 3, 1994. They had no children, the nearest relative being a nephew, Charles Eugene Hales of Sun City, AZ and a niece, Lela Margaret Hales Troutman of Ft. Madison, IA
He was a 1926 graduate of Keosauqua High School and retired as an electrician and maintenance supervisor for the General Motors Plant at Fairfax, MO.
A very handy man, he built his own home on an acreage in Clay County where he remained until his death.
He was a member of U.A.W. Local 31 and a member of the Tryst Falls Baptist
Church.
Visitation was held at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, Liberty, MO with graveside services and internment April 3 at Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty.
