OBITUARY

Anna Elizabeth Burns was born October 8, 1881, in Des Moines township, near Keosauqua, Iowa, where her widowed mother still resides, and passed on to the home that is prepared for such as she, December 15, 1919, at St. Joseph's hospital, Keokuk, Iowa, where she had bravely submitted to a surgical operation some three weeks ago.

She was married to Arthur C. Parker of Cantril, Iowa, March 3, 1901, by Rev. Clark Bateman of Keosauqua. Four buds of promise blessed this happy union: Mary Lucille who remained just two years and two months to cheer the home, Vivian, Geneva and Floyd dying in infancy, and little Arthur C. Jr. aged four years, who is here to help comfort the stricken husband and father, and to cheer the home with his prattle and smiles, although a loss has come to his tender life that he cannot now fully realize.

She leaves one brother, John Burns, who lives with the mother, two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Garrett and Mrs. Emma Daughrity, both of Keosauqua, Iowa, to deeply mourn the loss. The father died in 1915, and the mother being in delicate health, Lizzie, as she was so generally called, was ever thoughtful of her going beyond her physical strength to minster to her needs, as a dutiful and loving child. That same willing service was ever extended to all relatives, neighbors and friends, and her home always gave an atmosphere of true welcome.
