Daisy E. Jackson

Death claimed a lovable young woman in Miss Daisy E. Jackson at the Ottumwa hospital Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Miss Jackson had been ill for the past fifteen weeks, an attack of typhoid fever being followed by a complication of troubles. She was twenty-one years of age.

The deceased was the daughter of James H. and Rebecca Jackson, 1049 West Main street. At the time of her illness she was employed at the Tower-Majors Candy Co. She was born in Vernon, Iowa, June 6, 1890, and came to a Ottumwa four years ago after a residence in Keosauqua. Miss Jackson was a member of the Christian church in Keosauqua and had been affiliated with the First church of this city since coming here. She was an esteemed member of the Knights and Ladies of Security and her sisters paid their tribute to her memory in ritualistic services at the grave.

Besides her parents she leaves four brothers, Alonzo of Bentonsport; Thomas, Fort Collins, Colo.; Charles of Bonaparte, and Paul of Bushnell S. D. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Carrie Beggs, Croton, Ia., and Mrs. Lucy Overturf of the city.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the family residence and at 2 o'clock at the First Christian church, conducted by Rev. Edwin S. Priest, the pastor. Interment was made in the Ottumwa Cemetery.
