Addison Blade Roberts.
Addison Blade Roberts, son of James E. and Sallie M. Roberts was born near Hudsonville, Breckenridge county, Kentucky, January 29, 1835.
He was united in marriage to Nancy I. Mourning Nov. 19, 1857. To this union six children were born, viz., Mrs. H. A. Chipman of Bentonsport, Iowa; Miller of Isabel, Kansas; Oscar of Longdale, Oklahoma; Willis and Mrs. Frederick Carmack of Blandinsville, Ill.; and Mrs. Alva Davis who died Feb. 14, 1901. He also leaves 24 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
At the age of two years he came with his parents from Kentucky to Illinois where most of his life was spent. He united with the M. E. church in 1867 and remained a faithful member until his death. The devoted wife died Sept 16, 1910.
Mr. Roberts has been a patient sufferer for several years until his Master called him from this world of pain to his brighter home above where no pain or sorrow ever come.
He died while visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. A. Chipman, near Bentonsport, Wednesday, July 19. A short service was held by Rev. Hamilton at the Chipman home and the remains were shipped to Blandinsville Saturday for burial.
