Peculiar Death.

There was an unusual and very sudden death at Milton Saturday, Sept. 4. A large man registering his name on the Milton Hotel register, W. A. Broadwell, conducted a novelty stand at the Milton fair. He attracted considerable attention because of his size, weighing about 350.

Saturday morning after breakfast he went to the lobby of the hotel, bought a cigar, and was suddenly taken ill acting very much as if he were intoxicated. He was at once taken to the calaboose where he died about 2 P.M., friendless and homeless.

Coroner W. A. Jones of Cantril held an inquest, the verdict being death from heart failure. On his person was found a card showing that he belonged to an Eagles lodge in Kentucky and that in the case of accident Mrs. M. A. Broadwell of Synthenetta, Kentucky, should be notified. She was notified and ordered the body sent to that town. $125 cash was also found on his person.

Dr. Summers called while he was in the calaboose and gave him medical attention. Marshal Bell was with him much during the day but he remained in a stupor and did not talk.
