Ray H. Wright, 61, a long time farmer and stockman of near Libertyville, died this morning at 5:10 a.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a a patient for the past two days. He had been in failing health for two years and seriously ill the past month.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, at 2 p.m. in the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Kenneth Johnson. Burial in the Mt. Moriah cemetery near Douds.
Mr. Wright was born May 29, 1905 near Douds the son of William and Gertie Wyckoff Wright. He was married Feb. 28, 1930 to Zelda Tedrow. The farm home was located 7 miles southwest of Libertyville where they lived for over 34 years. He had farmed all his life.
He was a member of the Abingdon Christian church. Besides his wife he is survived by one niece, Mrs. Sandra Cassaidy of Storm Lake and a nephew Gary H. Tedrow of Selma who were raised from childhood in the Wright home. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Lela Bradshaw and Mrs. Florence Knight, Ottumwa; Mrs. Blanche Day, Arbela, Mo; Paul Wright, Batavia; George Wright, Hedrick and Wayne Wright of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by one brother and his parents.
