RAYMOND PEARL YATES

Raymond Pearl Yates, son of David Scott and Susan Shepperson Yates was born May 27, 1897 near Ashton, Mo., and departed this life at 10:45, February 16, 1949 in the Sacred Heart hospital, Ft. Madison, Iowa, aged 51 years, 8 months, and 20 days.

On February 27, 1921, he was united in marriage to Beulah Belle Coffin, who preceded him in death April 13, 1941. To this union two daughters were born, Margaret Lorraine and Mavis Jean.

December 26, 1948 he was married to Vera Wallingford of Anson, Mo. His entire life was spent in Clark County, near Kahoka, Mo.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge for a number of years. His family loyalty, understanding nature, kindness and generosity to all of his friends proved his Christianity throughout the entire community. His onward journey has deeply saddened his many friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Laura, in infancy and Mrs. Addie Kildoo, and five brothers, namely William in infancy, Edward, Elmer, Archie and George.

Surviving are his companion, two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Elliot of Revere, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Roland Worrell of Kahoka, Mo.; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Perry, Kahoka, Mo., Mrs. Lulu Bombeck, St. Joseph, Mo. and Mrs. Grace Dochterman, Peoria, Ill.; three brothers, Claude of Memphis, Mo., Melvin, Luray, Mo. and Marvin of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Terry, Jimmy and Dickie Elliot and Peggy Worrell; sister-in law, aunts, 26 nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
