Joseph H. Slaughter (handwritten: son of Charley born 1887) W. and Laura Vickers Slaughter, and was married in November, 1909, to Rose Breithaupt, who survives. (handwritten: died July 18 1952)

Mr. Slaughter was formerly a state dairy inspector in this county for four years, served as a government AAA official for a period of 10 years and was known as a breeder and raiser of purebred Hampshire hogs and Jersey cattle. He moved to the old Metham farm

near Warsaw about 10 years ago. Soil - building practices which he instituted there converted the rum down farm into a highly productive one and attracted attention of conservationists over a wide area.

He attended the Millfork Baptist church and was a member of the Bethlehem grange.

Besides the widow, the survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Paul Roberts, Mrs. Kenneth Meek, Mrs. James Davis, all of Coshocton, and Miss Edith Slaughter, Coshocton Route 4, and George Slaughter of near warsaw. One daughter is deceased.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Warsaw Methodist church in charge of Rev. Howdy House, assisted by Rev. F.B. Chapman. Burial will be in Valley View cemetery.

Friends will be received at the home of the son, George Slaughter, near Warsaw, after 7 p.m. Saturday until noon Monday and at the church from 1 until 2 p.m.
